Character Strengths

Character strengths can be defined as positive traits reflected in thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

  • Research shows that strengths are pathways to wellbeing – our own and others. It provides a common language for discussing the best qualities in each other. At Oakhill Drive, we use our character strengths to create a positive uplifting environment that inspires participation and motivation.

  • There are 24 character strengths:

Research shows that people who use their strengths more are:

  • Happier

  • More confident

  • Less stressed

  • More resilient

  • More likely to achieve their goals

  • More engaged and perform better at work

  • … and have higher self-esteem and higher levels of energy and vitality
