ICT
Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) transforms the way students think and learn and gives them greater control over how, where and when they learn. Oakhill Drive seeks to protect, encourage and enhance the use of ICT.
At Oakhill Drive Technology helps us move away from a ‘traditional’ industrial model of education and towards creating 21st century learners who are cognitively nimble, creative, problem-solvers who are seekers rather than possessors of knowledge. Technology is no longer relegated to computer labs but embedded in daily classroom routines throughout all Key Learning Areas.
Students develop ICT capabilities using iPads, desktops and laptop computers for tasks associated with, information creation and presentation, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, creative expression and empirical reasoning. This includes conducting research, creating multimedia products, analysing data, designing solutions to problems, controlling processes and devices, and supporting computation while working independently and in collaboration with others.
