Resilience
At Oakhill Drive, we are building a resilient culture in the classroom, playground and school community by focusing on the related concepts of individual wellbeing and positive relationships. These concepts are taught, modelled and practiced.
In a resilient culture, students are well positioned to achieve growth in their individual wellbeing, their relationships and their learning; enabling them to thrive.
Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity. Resilience is based on personal connections, where individuals 'reach out' and others 'lean in' to support. It is essential that children experience adversity in order to develop resilience. They need to be supported through this process, while maintaining agency to manage the adversity.
Growth Mindset
At ODPS we teach the students how to have a growth mindset. A person with a growth mindset is more motivated to learn has greater confidence, embraces new challenges, is more persistent, listens to feedback, believes they can grow and change, develops a sense of achievement and thinks positively.
